Our Story

When my family came to America from Italy, they did not just bring their belongings. They brought their food, their traditions, and a willingness to start over. I grew up in a house where every meal mattered. Cooking was how we celebrated, how we argued, and how we showed love. As the first generation born here, I always felt the pull between where we came from and the life we were building. That tension eventually became the foundation of Prova Spirits.

Much of it started in my Nonna’s kitchen. It was loud and always in motion. Basil simmering on the stove. Citrus in the air. Glasses clinking while conversations overlapped. She had a way of taking simple ingredients and making them unforgettable. Tomato sauce, orange marmalade, cookies, pasta forno. But the thing that stayed with me most was her Limoncello. The first sip stopped me. It was not just a drink. It was a memory. Years later, that feeling turned into an idea. And that idea became Prova.

Living in Louisville, bourbon is everywhere. It is part of the city’s identity, and it deserves that place. But I also saw room for something different. A small space between the whiskies where Italian spirits could live comfortably. Amari, vermouths, and liqueurs with deep roots and a modern point of view. Spirits that feel familiar, but still surprise you.

Our Mission

We make spirits meant to be shared.

They are rooted in tradition, shaped by curiosity, and made by hand in small batches. Every bottle reflects where we come from and how we drink today. Sometimes that means a classic cocktail done right. Other times it means trying something new at the bar with friends.

However you enjoy them, our spirits are made to bring people together and keep them there a little longer.

A group of people celebrating around a dining table on a narrow street at night, with buildings and plants on either side.
A man and a young boy sitting at a table celebrating a birthday with a chocolate cake topped with pink and yellow flowers and small flags, in a room with pink flowers on the windowsill and a cactus plant in the background.
A woman kneeling on a wooden dock next to a row of freshly caught fish, preparing them for processing. She is dressed in an orange dress and sandals. There are various fishing supplies and a large trash bin nearby, and water is visible in the background.
